The Industrial Sector
In the past, industrial use of hydrogen has been largely limited to the petro-chemical sector. Today a much broader application of hydrogen is being developed. Many – if not most – of these applications will require the ability to store and dispense hydrogen on-site, at the point of use.
- Turbine based power generation
- Hydrogen production from renewable energy sources
- Data centers
- Operating resiliency / Emergency supply
- Grid resiliency – energy storage
The Transportation Sector
While the ultimate goal is pure hydrogen fueled vehicles, the illustration above shows that hydrogen fueling infrastructure only exists in California and other single locations. We believe that the best path to hydrogen as a transportation fuel is through the existing CNG fueling infrastructure and its use through existing fleets of Class 8, NGV trucks.
It is broadly published that existing NGV trucks can operate well, when fueled with hydrogen enriched CNG. Emission and efficiency benefits are found with this fuel use which can translate into economic benefits to the end user on a cost per mile basis.
Bedrock is partnering with OnCue Marketing, a regional CNG distributor, to add Hydrogen to their existing CNG infrastructure, see Relationship tab. Once in service, CNG vehicles will have the option of filling with an H2-CNG Blend and pure hydrogen will be available for fuel cell vehicles.
